After what felt like the longest trip ever, I’m finally home. The bus ride back wasn’t just a physical journey—it was a test of my endurance, patience, and ability to handle stress. It’s funny how, sometimes, the moment you walk through your door, you feel like you’ve crossed a finish line.
The Long Ride Back
It started with the usual chaos: waiting for an Uber that never showed up, scrambling to get another one, and worrying we wouldn’t make it to the bus in time. After a tense few moments, we made it, and that was just the beginning of the adventure.
The bus stops were dirty, the employees were rude, and I couldn’t even take my meds to help me. But we got through it. At that moment, I thought, I can handle this. I just need to get home.
A Sweet Escape: Home at Last
There’s something about finally walking through your front door that instantly makes everything feel better. I was exhausted—both physically and mentally—but the relief of being in my own space made all the stress feel worth it.
I didn’t even want to unpack right away; I just wanted to sit on the couch, breathe, and take in the peace of home. It’s like my body knew I needed to rest and reset.
The Power of Rest
So, I crashed. Hard. I cleaned up a bit when I got home, just to make the space feel like mine again, and then I slept—12 hours straight. I woke up feeling a little more like myself, but still tired from the meds. Even so, there’s something comforting about knowing I can take things slow today and just be at home.
Taking It Easy
After all that stress, the plan for today is simple: just enjoy having my girls back and soak in the calm. I’m not going to rush through anything, and I’m definitely not overdoing it. Sometimes, being home means more than just physically being in the house—it means allowing myself to relax, recharge, and appreciate the little moments with my family.
If you’ve ever had one of those trips that makes you grateful for the peace of home, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s a reminder that no matter how hard the journey is, the destination is worth it.
