Running on Empty: The Bus Ride From Hell

Traveling is supposed to be an adventure, right? Well, this trip back home was more of a survival test. It started at 10:30 PM, and from the moment we tried to leave, everything seemed to go wrong.

Uber Fail & A Race Against Time

We booked an Uber to get to the bus stop, but it never showed. Just straight-up ghosted us. Cue the panic. We scrambled to get another one, stressing the whole time that we wouldn’t make it to the station on time. Thankfully, we did—but barely. And honestly, that was just the beginning of the mess.

Rude Employees & Bus Stops That Smell Like a Bathroom

Once we got there, we had questions about our bags because it looked like our bus was leaving without us. Instead of any kind of helpful response, we got attitude. Turns out, the bus was just getting gas, but the way they handled it made an already stressful situation even worse.

Then there were the bus stops themselves—absolutely disgusting. The whole place smelled like a bathroom that hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. There’s a huge difference between luxury and basic human decency, and this? This was straight-up neglect.

Running on Fumes

The worst part? I couldn’t take my meds because they knock me out hard, and I needed to stay aware of what was going on. So here I am, running on absolutely no sleep, counting down six more stops until I can finally crawl into my own bed.

Lessons Learned

If this trip taught me anything, it’s that I have way more patience than I thought—but I’d rather not test it like this again. Next time, I’m seriously reconsidering how I travel. Because this? Never again.

Have you ever had a travel nightmare like this? Let me know in the comments so we can suffer together.
